Leaping

Before little miss Haana started kindergarten, she used to go to a montessori. There, she went through initial testing for a program called LEAP. She later had multiple rounds of in depth in person testing and qualified for the program. 

Bobby boy tested for leap last year but was not ready then yet. 

This past school year, he qualified for leap testing. There were multiple rounds of in person tests administered by the school district professionals at Bobby's school. And just after schools closed for the summer, we got a letter informing us that Bobby qualifies for the leap program starting fall of first grade! He will now transition to a different school for first grade. 

Little miss Haana was so excited that Bobby gets to be in the same program as her. The program runs from elementary through middle school. So josey as she graduated from the program, Bobby starts it up! I am excited for him and so proud of him too.

"LEAP is a self-contained program for the exceptionally gifted child. The focus of the elementary program is to provide an environment which strives to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of the students. LEAP is a sequential and holistic program that seeks to integrate the intellectual and affective aspects of the highly gifted child. The curriculum emphasizes academic challenge, self-directed learning, and both creative and productive outcomes. Educational experiences also are designed to promote global and cultural awareness, curiosity, and reflective thinking."
